Below is a list of important terms and abbreviations used throughout the BPN documentation.

| Stablecoin | Stablecoin | A type of cryptocurrency pegged to the value of a fiat currency (e.g., USDT, USDC, BBRL). |
| USDT | Tether | A widely used stablecoin pegged to the US Dollar. |
| USDC | USD Coin | Another leading USD-pegged stablecoin, issued by Circle. |
| BBRL | Brazilian Real Stablecoin | A stablecoin pegged to the Brazilian Real (BRL). |
| DEX | Decentralized Exchange | An on-chain exchange for swapping tokens without intermediaries. |
| FX | Foreign Exchange | The conversion of one currency into another, especially between fiat and stablecoins. |
| KYC | Know Your Customer | Compliance process to verify users’ identities. |
| AML | Anti-Money Laundering | Regulatory controls to prevent illegal financial activities. |
| API | Application Programming Interface | A set of endpoints and standards for programmatic integration. |
| Liquidity Pool | Liquidity Pool | Pools of tokens used to facilitate swaps and settlements on-chain. |
| Clearing | Clearing | The process of settling transactions, either on-chain or off-chain. |
| Merchant | Merchant | A business or individual using BPN services for payments or settlements. |
| PSP | Payment Service Provider | A platform that enables merchants to accept payments in different forms. |
| Arbitrageur | Arbitrageur | A participant who profits from price differences between markets. |
| MM | Market Maker | An entity providing liquidity by quoting both buy and sell prices. |
| Sandbox | Sandbox Environment | A test environment for API and integration trials, without real fund risk. |
| Testnet | Testnet | Blockchain environment for testing before production deployment. |
